Realizing Your Dreams: How to Get a Product from Your Vision to the Consumer Part 2 – Until a Contract Is Signed, Nothing is Real

May 17 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am EDT

Are you an entrepreneur who has had that “a-ha” moment for an amazing new product or for improving an existing one?  And now you’re wondering what to do next?

Then join SCORE, the Central Florida International Trade Office, and the Manufacturers Association of Central Florida for our series on how to take this idea from concept to the consumer!

This second workshop looks at formalizing your new business relationships with a contract.  Just as they say, good fences make good neighbors, and having a written agreement that clearly defines the rights and obligations of both parties is the foundation of a good business relationship.  That agreement will give you the certainty you need in order to prevent conflict and will help others within your organization understand how to maintain compliance.

Nate Friends (former General Counsel for AT&T International) will help you understand the key objectives and elements of a contract and will share his insights into what you will need to include – and what pitfalls to avoid – when negotiating a contract, either as a seller or a buyer.  He will also cover some of the specific issues that you need to take into account when contracting with a foreign buyer or seller.  And for those who would like to have a one-on-one discussion with Nate about their personal situation, please reach out to info@cfito.org to book one of the limited time slots available to meet with him after the presentation.
