Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship (CFAE) at Rollins College
Housed at the Crummer Graduate School of Business, the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship offers a range of practical experiences to assist entrepreneurs in the community with scaling up. As a part of the Crummer Graduate School of Business, its mission is to educate and connect students and entrepreneurs for entrepreneurial growth and action.
Meet the team:
Executive Director & Entrepreneur in Residence
Dr. Mclindon is the Executive Director & Entrepreneur in Residence, and he also serves as a faculty advisor to Rollins students through the Entrepreneurial Scholar of Distinction (ESD) program, mentoring teams of students as they find commercial applications and develop paths to market for technologies developed by NASA.
Dr. McAlindon is the founder and chief executive officer of Blue Orb Inc., a technology company that develops computer technology for people with disabilities. Blue Orb Inc. created and now markets and sells the orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard.
Dr. McAlindon has significant expertise in Entrepreneurship (Start-up Ventures), Angel Capital, Human Computer Interaction, Product Design and Development, and Research Methods and Statistics

Assistant Director
Daniel Perez is the Assistant Director at the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship. Daniel has extensive experience working with universities. There, he built brand awareness and executed marketing campaigns for start-ups, monitored the program’s budget, and facilitated a network of students and alumni.
In his brief time at the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship, Daniel held an event to rekindle the relationship between the entrepreneurship community and CFAE, where over 75 alumni and entrepreneurs attended. Additionally, Daniel has begun developing an innovative program with Central Florida High Schools that will ignite an entrepreneurial mindset for high schoolers and their parents.

Crummer Venture Plan Competition
If you’re a CEO armed with a robust business plan and a compelling pitch for a startup, seize the opportunity to join the annual Venture Plan Competition in Spring 2024, hosted by Crummer since 2015. Recognized as Central Florida’s largest, and comprehensive business plan and pitch competition for startups, this event is open to all regionally headquartered startups. Here, participants engage in a fierce battle for funding, exposure, and mentorship, presenting their ideas before the region’s top entrepreneurs, leaders, and venture capitalists. This competition, featuring multiple distinguished judges who are successful investors and entrepreneurs, offers a chance for startup teams to compete for prize money and gain invaluable exposure and funding in the vibrant Central Florida business ecosystem.
