The Florida APEX Accelerator at UCF (formerly PTAC) exists to help businesses in the Central Florida region understand the government contracting process, position for government contracting business development, and win contracts.

About

 

The Florida APEX Accelerator (formally PTAC) is a network of 13 government contracting consultants hosted by nine universities throughout the state and are funded in part by the Department of Defense.  

The APEX Accelerator Government Contracting Consultants at UCF, Steve South and Kara Vernon, provide government contracting support for businesses in Central Florida (Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia counties). 

 

The APEX Accelerator services include:

Consulting Services: Consultants provide confidential one-one-one consulting – at no cost – to meet businesses where they are in the government contracting process and help them develop sustainable strategies to pursue government contracts.  We support clients that are targeting any combination of federal, state, county, or local level contracts.

Training:  The APEX Accelerator at UCF offers three (3) workshop series throughout the year: 

  1. Monthly: ”Government Contracting: an Overview” seminar on the first Wednesday of every month at 9:00am EST,
  2. Our ”Expert Speaker Series” brings in subject matter experts in various areas of government contracting.  Recent topics have included the GSA Schedules, Proposal Development Best Practices, and Cybersecurity., and
  3. Monthly SBA Workshop:  The APEX Accelerator at UCF hosts local SBA representatives as they address SBA programs of interest to small business government contractors.

The APEX Accelerator can also provide clients no cost access to many of the on-demand government training videos available through govology.com.

Information and Resources:  The APEX Accelerator consultants can also help you find information related to government contracting including contacts, past and current solicitations, industry forecasts, etc.  We can help you navigate publicly accessible sites such as SAM.gov, DSBS, FPDS, and more plus through our UCF, and other affiliations we have access to several other research tools as well.
