BOT: Success Stories: Inspiring Black Women In Tech & Their Journeys To The Top

We’re celebrating Women’s History Month through highlighting a panel of inspiring Black women in Technology and their journey to the top.
Meet Our Inspirational Black Women In Tech Panelists:
Tiffany Spencer: Salesforce Trailblazer, Tech Executive, BOT Secretary Chair
Tiffany Spencer is a 7x certified Salesforce.com Professional and Salesforce MVP with over 12 years of experience leading digital transformations for small to large corporations utilizing the Salesforce.com platform. She is the Founder and CEO of Tech Forward Solutions, a Salesforce Implementation Partner and Tech Forward, a nonprofit organization that exposes marginalized communities to cloud and SAAS (software-as-a-service) based technologies and careers paths to help participants become more marketable, obtain higher-paying jobs and career opportunities.
Tiffany is very active in the community and uses her expertise to mentor high school and college students. She is also the Board Chair of Black Orlando Tech, a non-profit organization committed to accelerating minority economic advancement through tech careers and entrepreneurial endeavors. She is also a mentor with The Greatest Investment (TGI) Girls Empowerment Program.
She is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, a wife, and a proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University with a degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Business Administration.
Jenell Pizarro: Software Engineer, Educator, and Inclusive Tech Advocate
Jenell Pizarro is a Senior Software Engineer at Netlify who can’t live without some form of pink hair. She’s been coding for roughly 7 years in the front end space with an emphasis on accessibility. If she’s not coding, you can find her exploring the world with her roller skates.
Nicole “Nikki” Gibbons: Entrepreneur, Management Consultant, Project Management Specialist
Nicole Gibbons is a skilled management consultant and project management specialist with a strong track record of driving business growth and transformation initiatives. With a focus on her experience at Deloitte, a global professional services firm, Nicole has developed a deep understanding of strategy, operations, and change management across various industries.
At Deloitte, Nicole worked as a Senior Consultant, where she was responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex business transformation projects. She played a crucial role in designing and implementing strategies that streamlined operations, reduced costs, and improve overall organizational effectiveness for her clients.
Leveraging her experience at Deloitte, Nicole has developed exceptional skills in project management, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement, enabling her to make a significant impact on the organizations she works with. Her experience at Deloitte serves as a strong foundation for her current pursuits in the design and entrepreneurial world.
Maya Davis: STEM Trailblazer, Senior System Engineer and BOT Mentorship Lead
Meet Maya Davis, a dynamic woman in S.T.E.M with a passion for computer science and data analytics. Maya was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where she developed a fascination for technology and computer programming. She enrolled at Tennessee State University to pursue her studies in computer science, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017.
After graduation, Maya moved to Florida in search of career opportunities. She landed a job at Lockheed Martin as a Systems Engineer, where she honed her technical skills and gained valuable experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Her work at Lockheed Martin involved testing and integrating complex systems for military applications, and she quickly rose through the ranks, earning several promotions in just a few years.
While working at Lockheed Martin, Maya discovered her passion for data science and decided to pursue further studies in the field. She enrolled in the University of Central Florida and earned a Master’s degree in Data Analytics in 2022. Her advanced degree gave her the skills and knowledge needed to tackle more complex data-driven problems and to develop innovative solutions for a range of applications.
In addition to her work in S.T.E.M, Maya is also deeply committed to community service. She volunteers with several organizations in her spare time, including the Black Orlando Tech, where she serves as a mentorship leader. Maya volunteers for Greater Oaks Village foster home where she mentors young girls and encourages them to pursue careers in S.T.E.M. She also volunteers with other local non-profit organizations that focus on improving the lives of underprivileged communities in Florida.
Maya is a trailblazer in S.T.E.M and an inspiration to young women who are interested in pursuing careers in technology. Her dedication, passion, and commitment to service make her a true asset to the industry and the community.
