EBI: Nonprofit Budget Basics

Find out how a budget can shape your organization’s direction by funding board priorities and setting targets for evaluation. Learn how budgets can be used as management tools to plan and monitor the use of resources. Learn techniques for developing a budget that can be adapted to your organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Increase understanding of the benefits of a budget and how it can be used as a management tool
  • Explore various approaches to developing a budget
  • Explore a typical budget calendar and budget formats

Cost: $80 Members, $160 Non-members

Instructor: Janet Ziomek has over 35 years of finance and accounting expertise in both corporate and non-profit organizations.  Janet has held roles as Senior Manager with Ernst and Young, Chief Financial Officer of a publicly held healthcare company and Senior Vice President of Human Capital for a division of a Fortune 50 company.

Janet holds a B.S. in Business Administration from West Virginia University and is a CPA.

She has volunteered in the Central Florida community as a Board member of Orlando Shakes, President of the Board of Harbor House of Central Florida and as a citizenship instructor for Hope CommUnity Center.
