Prepare Your Business For Natural Disasters

The SBA and Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted “Build Back Better and Stronger” at the National Entrepreneur Center on June 15th. This seminar focused on the SBA opportunities for disaster recovery. As a Central Florida business, is vital to be prepared by taking the right steps and having a plan, so if disaster strikes you are best prepared for recovery.

Lead by SBA Public Affairs Specialist Sandra Lawson and SBA Customer Service Representative Jeffrey Powell, this workshop discussed the SBA disaster loan program based on the current Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), open Florida disaster declarations (Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, and Broward County Flooding) highlighting EIDL loan, EIDL application process and forms including 4506-C, and common mistakes to avoid.

Small businesses and nonprofits should review the Disaster Preparedness Checklists below for steps to help you be prepared before, during, and after a natural disaster.

If Central Florida encounters a disaster, the National Entrepreneur Center will provide up to date details. Make sure to follow both @Nationalec and @BizLinkOrange for local updates for your business.
